Student Care Fee Assistance
(Special Student Care Centres)

The Community Development Councils (CDCs) administer the Student Care Fee Assistance (SCFA) Scheme which provides subsidies to parents of children in Special Student Care Centres.

The table below shows the level of subsidy and this is based on the combined income of both parents.  This quantum of subsidy is only applicable to students with disabilities enrolled in the appointed centres.

The centres can claim the fee assistance for parents who meet the following eligibility criteria:

1) The child must be a Singapore citizen or permanent resident (PR). If the child is a PR, then at least one member of the immediate family (parent or sibling) should be a Singapore citizen. The child must be:

   a. 7 to 18 years of age

   b. attending a mainstream or special education school

   c. certified by a medical doctor confirming the applicant's disability

2) The mother/single father is working full-time or part-time regularly; and

3) The combined gross monthly income of both parents including training allowances, does not exceed $2,500.

The centres are encouraged to provide additional financial support to parents who have difficulty paying the fees even after the SCFA subsidy.

Parents who wish to apply for the SCFA can do so by liasing directly with the respective centres given in the list below.
